WORK EXPERIENCE

Resident Services Coordinator, Linn County Affordable Housing (LCAH), Lebanon, OR, 5/00- 7/01

Ø                Planned, implemented and evaluated projects and programs with residents of LCAH-owned housing to enrich social, economic and environmental conditions impacting their lives.

Ø                Wrote grants to support existing and new resident and LCAH projects/ programs.

Ø                Provided information and referral, advocacy, and/or short-term case management services to individuals and families in crisis or in need of social, educational, and/or employment related services.

Ø                Fostered success of existing and future LCAH partnerships such as Kidco Head Start, Willamette Valley Individual Development Account Program and the ABC’s of Homebuying Program.

Ø                   Taught class sizes of 140 students English literature, composition and grammar following a Malawian syllabus in a rural, non-government school.

Ø                   Initiated a community development project of bringing electricity to a village and oversaw the sustainability of the project.

Ø                   Directed and organized school functions such as field trips, sporting events and graduation.

Ø                   Reorganized and acquired books for an existing school library.

Ø                   Instructed seven Peace Corps English teacher trainees about the teaching syllabus, classroom management and obstacles of teaching in Malawi.

Ø                   Developed instructional sessions and a model school for trainees with team of trainers.
